

Adams, John Quincy. 82, of North Tonawanda, went home to the Lord on Saturday April 22, 2006 at the Brothers of Mercy Nursing and Rehab. Center after a long illness. John was born in Beaverdale, Pennsylvania in 1924. He was a member of St. Joseph R.C. Church. John served in the U.S. Navy in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans during WWII as a Metal Smith 2nd Class. He served on the USS Denebola AD 12. John also served in the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1941 John was an active member of American Legion Post 1451 in Wheatfield for over 56 years. He also was a life member of Post #9011 VFW in Tonawanda and AMVETS Post #26, North Tonawanda. John retired from Sheet Metal Workers Local 71 Buffalo, NY. John liked golfing, woodworking and gardening around the house. Brother of the late Pat and Billy Adams and Agnes Vanderbosh.
Beloved husband for 55 years of Marilyn (nee Batt) Adams of North Tonawanda, Loving father of David (Cindy) Adams of North Tonawanda, Debra (Donald) Gordon of the Town of Tonawanda and Diane (Gene) Boney of Indian Trail, NC. Dear brother of Daniel (Maryann) Adams, Charles Adams, Patricia (Kenneth) Walter, Barbara (Michael) Durgay and Maryann (James) Cosgrove and the late Paul (Louise) Adams. Proud Grandfather of Jason and Taren Adams. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends received by the family on Monday evening 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Brunner Funeral Home, 156 Robinson Street, where prayers will be held on Wednesday morning at 9:30 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph R.C. Church at 10:00 a.m.. Entombment will follow at Acacia Park Cemetery. The family requests that memorials be made local veterans organizations.
