Estella Melissa Carpenter (nee Nicholson) 87, of North Tonawanda at DeGraff Memorial Hospital on Wednesday (August 11, 2004) after a month long illness. Estella was born in the Republic of Panama and moved to North Tonawanda in 1992. She was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. Sister of the late Ernesto Nicholson, Ira Vincent Nicholson, Zenola May Schwable and Nora Luisa Aleman.

Beloved mother of Louisa May (Jose) Zerr of Seattle, Washington and Hilda Maria (Dennis) Gauda of North Tonawanda. Dear sister of Ronald H. Nicholson and James S. Nicholson both of the Republic of Panama. Loving and Proud Grandmother of Connie (Jeff) Olden of Seattle, WA, Nora Luisa Ballance of Sulphur, LA, Estella Melissa (Jonathan) Bullwinkle of San Angelo, TX, Angela Maria (Andrew) Clancy of Aviano, Italy, Jose Luis (Nicole) Zerr, Jr., PVT, USA, and Jessica Lynn Gauda of Plattsburgh, NY. Also survived by eight great-grand children. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Friends invited to attend a memorial service at the Brunner Funeral Home, 156 Robinson Street, North Tonawanda on Tuesday morning at 11:00. The Rev. Jerre Feagin, officiating. Memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice or St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.
