LaBarbera, Josephine S.(nee Scarfone) 78, of North Tonawanda on Thursday, April 19, 2007,  after a long illness.  Josephine was a lifelong resident of North Tonawanda and a member of Ascension R.C. Church.  She had retired from the North Tonawanda Schools System.  Josephine volunteered at DeGraff Memorial Hospital Gift Shop and she organized various Ascension Church Seniors activities and trips.  Josephine enjoyed the Ladies Golf League at Deerwood Golf Course.  Wife of the late Anthony J. LaBarbera and daughter of the late James and Rose Scarfone (Miano) and sister of the late Stephen and Rick Scarfone. 

Loving mother of James (Mari) LaBarbera of Wheatfield, Paul (Laura) LaBarbera of New Jersey, Susan (Michael) Zobrist of North Tonawanda, Sharon Mills of Springville and Daniel (Lisa) LaBarbera of Wheatfield.  Loving grandfather of Nicholas (Sarah), Scott, Paul Jr., Mark and Elizabeth LaBarbera., Vincent Zobrist and Nathan, Anthony and Rachel Mills. Great grandmother of Alexander LaBarbera.  Also survived by several nieces and nephews.   

Friends received by the family on Sunday (April 22, 2007) 12-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Brunner Funeral Home (692-3841), 156 Robinson Street, North Tonawanda, where services will be held on Monday morning at 9:30 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Ascension R.C. Church, 168 Robinson Street, North Tonawanda.   Interment will be private.  The family asks that memorials be made to Niagara Hospice, Inc.
