Leo S. Mierzwa of Getzville, NY formerly of North Tonawanda on Wednesday (July 14, 2004) at the Veterans Hospital of Buffalo after lengthly illness. Mr. Mierzwa was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church. He retired from the Dupont Chemical Company. He was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran serving in Europe and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

Beloved father of Daniel (Gloria) Mierzwa of Getzville, Ronald Mierzwa of Ellicottville, Jerome (Mimi) Mierzwa of Laurel, MD and Paul Mierzwa of Kenmore. Grandfather of Alexis, Aaron, Timothy, Christopher and Jonathan Mierzwa. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Thursday evening 7-9 PM and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Brunner Funeral Home, 156 Robinson Street, North Tonawanda where services will be held at 9:30 Saturday morning followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, 61 Broadway, New York, NY 10006.
