Morningstar, Karan, (nee Zupo) 56, of Wheatfield after a long illness at Kenmore Mercy Hospital.  Karan was a Certified Nurses Assistant and worked for the DeGraff Adult Day Care Facility.  She was the sister of the late James Schimek and Yvonne Martinia. 

Loving wife of Bruce A. Morningstar of Wheatfield.  Dar mother of SGT. Jason P. (Heather) Morningstar, USA,  of Ft. Bragg, NC, and Gloria Lynn Morningstar of Wheatfield.  Proud Grandmother of Alexander, William and Samuel Morningstar.  Sister of Daniel (Marilyn) Schimek, Pamela (Matthew) Marotta, Bonnie Thomas and Michael (Diane) Zupo. 

Friends received by the family on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Brunner Funeral Home, 156 Robinson St., North Tonawanda where services will be held on Wednesday morning at 10:30.  Interment will follow at Acacia Park Cemetery.  The family has asked that memorials be made to the Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society.
