James Joseph Sciandra

James Joseph Sciandra, Sr., 91, of West Chester formerly of Downingtown, passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2022. He was the beloved husband of the late Aleen C. (Schuh) Sciandra, with whom he shared 62 years of marriage prior to her passing in 2013.
Born in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph John and Lucy (Vaccaro) Sciandra.
He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the State University of New York at Buffalo Bachelor of Engineering and MBA and had a very successful career working 37 and a half years at Pennwalt. Jim was a chemical engineer and oversaw important environmental recovery projects in New York, Texas and Kentucky.
Jim was a dedicated member of the Central Presbyterian Church in Downingtown serving as a Deacon and Trustee as well as other committees and church functions.
Jim is survived by his three children, Darlene (Keith), Joe(Carl), and John; five grandchildren, Jason (Marlo), Matthew (Stephanie), Megan (Ben), Corianne (Derek), Nichole; his grandson-in-law, Isaac Sauer; and by seven great grandchildren,. He was predeceased by his son, James, Jr.; his granddaughter, Jamie; and by three siblings.
A viewing will be held from 12:00-1:00 p.m., Friday, January 7, 2022 at Brunner Funeral Home, 156 Robinson Street, North Tonawanda. Entombment will be in Elmlawn Memorial Park in Tonawanda, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Jamie Sauer Charitable Fund | Chester County Community Foundation or Thorndale Fire Company - Chester County, Pennsylvania
