Harry S. Stocky

Harry S. Stocky, age 84, on Sunday (January 11, 2009) at his residence after a long illness. Harry was a member of Ascension R.C. Church and St. Jude the Apostle Parish. Harry was a WWII U.S. Army Air Corps Veteran serving from 1943 to 1946. His wartime service was primarily in the Aleutian Islands. He graduated from North Tonawanda High School in 1941 and graduated from Buffalo State College in 1977 with a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Harry was employed by Bell Aerospace for 44 years as a Plant Layout Engineer. Harry was active in the community as a lifetime member of Elks Lodge #860 and the American Legion Post 264. He was on the Planning Committee for the Deerwood Golf Course. Son of the late Stanley and Mary Stocki. Father of the late William D. Stocky, Thomas J. Stocky and Kathleen A. Dubickas, grandfather of the late David Stocky. Brother of the late Hattie Wozniak, Helen Golden and Henry Stocki. Beloved husband of Patricia (nee Primeau) Stocky of North Tonawanda. Loving father of Judith (Eric) Ziolek of Cleveland, OH and Mary Beth (Frederick) Bagg of Indianapolis, IN. Proud grandfather of Suzanne Stocky, Christina Stocky and Thomas Stocky, Gretchen Ziolek, Andrew Dubickas, Jessica Dubickas, Catherine Willman and Elizabeth West. Also surviving are four great-grandchildren. Father-in-law of Cynthia Stocky of Amherst and Paul Dubickas of North Tonawanda. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends received by the family on Wednesday 4-8:30 p.m. at the Brunner Funeral Home (692-3841), 156 Robinson Street, North Tonawanda where services will be held Thursday morning at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St Jude the Apostle Parish (800 Niagara Falls Blvd.) at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be private at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family requests that memorials be made to Niagara Hospice, Inc., 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094 or for Masses in Harry’s name at St. Jude the Apostle Parish.
