Jay Charles Wynkoop

Jay Charles Wynkoop, 68, of North Tonawanda died on Tuesday August 18, 2026 after a long illness. Son of the late Gerald and Betty Wynkoop. Loving father of Jayson J. Wynkoop (Samantha Koeppel) and Jared W. Wynkoop. Grandfather of Skylar Oliver. Brother of Kirk Wynkoop (Judy Webb) and the late Mark Wynkoop, Holly Darfler and Joy Lapine. Also survived by three nieces Christine Null, Jennifer Wynkoop and Stacy Wynkoop. Also survived by many great nieces and nephews and many friends.

Jay retired from the New York State Department of Corrections. He was a U. S. Army Veteran and served in Korea. He lit up the room with his laughter and will be missed by many. Jay will be interred at the National Cemetery in Corfu, New York at a time to be announced. A celebration of his life will be at a later date.
