Marion Z. Gau

Marion Z. Gau, (nee Ziehl) age 84 of North Tonawanda at the Newfane Rehabilitation & Health Care Center after a long illness. Marion was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education from State Teachers College at Fredonia. She worked in the Tonawanda and North Tonawanda Public School System as a Music Teacher. For 25 years, she was the Head Usher at the former Melody Fair. As an accomplished Violinist, she played with the Niagara County Community College Orchestra and her Church. Marion was active in the community working for the DeGraff Memorial Hospital Auxiliary; an eighty-year member of Post 264 American Legion Auxiliary and involved with the Parent Teachers Association at Gilmore School. Marion was an avid Bridge player and teacher. Marion and her family enjoyed the family cottage in Silver Bay, Ontario. She and her husband, the late Edwin A. Gau, owned and operated Gau Printing.

Beloved mother of Gail Gau of Lewiston, Gary (Cheryl) Gau of Howard Lake, MN, Glen (Lissa) Gau of North Tonawanda, Gloria Gau of North Tonawanda and Gordon Gau of Wheatfield. Grandmother of Gillian and Rachel Gau.

Friends received by the family on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Brunner Funeral Home (692-3841) 156 Robinson St. North Tonawanda where services will be held on Thursday morning at 10:00 AM. The Rev. A.W. Moldenhauer, officiating. Interment will be private.
