Pieter De Haas

Pieter de Haas, age 89, of North Tonawanda, died at DeGraff Memorial Hospital on Monday (July 21, 2008) after a long illness. Born in the Netherlands, he immigrated with his family to the United States in 1957 and settled in North Tonawanda. Pieter retired from Durez Plastics Company in 1982. He was an avid photographer, stamp collector and artist. He was a 12 year veteran of the Royal Dutch Air Force, serving during WWII and after it ended. Beloved husband of Louise (nee Hozee) de Haas of North Tonawanda. Loving father of Ditte de Haas of Amherst and Anneke (Frank) Sarzyniak of North Tonawanda. Proud grandfather of Jennifer Sarzyniak of Fort Myers, FL. Brother of Grada Brouwer of the Netherlands. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends received by the family on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Brunner Funeral Home (692-3841), 156 Robinson Street, North Tonawanda where services will be held on Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m. The Rev.
