Richard E. Brodfuehrer

Richard Brodfuehrer died at home on Tuesday (August 10, 2010) under the care of Niagara Hospice with his family present at the age of 85 years. Richard was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. As an Electrical Engineer, he worked at Bell Aerospace until 1973 and then retired from Niagara Cutter in 1987. He was the Union President for the Niagara Cutter Independent Shop Union. He was an avid traveler and enjoyed playing bridge. As a WWII U.S. Army Veteran he served in the European Theater and he was awarded the Purple Heart, the French Fourragere, the ETO Ribbon with 4 Campaign Stars and one Arrowhead and the combat infantry badge. Brother of the late Helen Burngasser, Raymond Brodfuehrer and James Brodfuehrer.

Beloved husband for 37 years of Jacqueline (nee Adams) Brodfuehrer. Loving father of Patricia (the late A.J.) Buchanan of St. Petersburg, FL, Richard J. (Janine) Brodfuehrer of Endicott, NY, Joanne (Stephen Parus) Brodfuehrer of Ann Arbor, MI, William E. Brodfuehrer of North Tonawanda, Michael (Leslie) Brodfuehrer of Milton, VT, Keith (Rosanne) Stolzenburg of East Amherst, Gary (Rebecca) Stolzenburg of North Tonawanda, Linda (Terrence) Boyle of Depew. Proud grandfather of 16 grand children and six great grandchildren. Beloved brother of Sr. Roselle Brodfuehrer, S.B.S. of Philadelphia, Doris Jones of Spencer, WV, Ruth (the late Vincent) DiVirgilio of North Tonawanda and Charles (Diane) Brodfuehrer of North Tonawanda. Brother-in-law of Jerome Burngasser, Elvira Brodfuehrer and Marion Brodfuehrer. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Friends received by the family on Friday, 3-8 P.M. at the Brunner Funeral Home (692-3841), 156 Robinson St. in North Tonawanda. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday morning at 10:00 A.M. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 453 Old Falls Blvd, North Tonawanda. The family asks that memorials be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Niagara Hospice, Inc. or the Buffalo Veterans Hospital Oncology Department.
